X- Posted in Brooklyn Pets. Cat clinic wanted
hi everyone.
X Posted in Brooklyn PETS
I live in Sunset Park. I dont want to travel TOO far, but I need a good clinic for getting my cat checked out and given shots.
I searched through the pet forums for vets and I KNOW to avoid:
5th avenue cat clinic
Park Slope Animal clinic
But there seems to be conflicting views on Animal Kind, Prospect park vet Clinic and Hope Vet.
The thing is what about shots for kittens and initial care?
I bought a Siamese, who has had her initial shots, but she will need a booster for FVRP. I was told by the breeder to be wary of vets that want to give my cat all its shots immediately, since my cat is so young it may die as a result of getting all the vaccines so soon. She told me it may actually be better to avoid Rabies shots since its unnecessary and many cats find it hard to take the rabies shot. She is waaaay to young to be neutered. She is 2 1/2 months old.
Where do you guys go for excellent cat care. Cost is not really a consideration so much as CARE IS
Park Slope, Bay Ridge, Gowanus, Greenwood Heights, Downtown Brooklyn are areas I am considering

Pet Haven Animal Hospital
290 McDonald Ave. Brooklyn
Been bringing my cats there for years... and have been very happy. -
Why avoid 5th Avenue Cat Clinic? I had a great experience there. I found that they didn't push vaccines on my cat and were very low-key.
I would avoid Animal Kind. -
I take my dog (and in the past, cats) to Bay Ridge Animal Hospital on 5th and 68th (by the Alpine Theater). The staff is super friendly, the doctors are always willing to listen to my concerns (even if they don't agree) and they're not horribly expensive.

ask flexichick about cat clinic; she had a VERY bad experience there.
I would avoid Animal Kind.
also, search the threads for the umpteen postings about which vets to use.
