this evening around 9pm i saw a black cat with some tiny white spots here and there. s/he was strolling  across the street at st.johns on 7th ave. s/he seemed friendly but i was unable to approach him/her - s/he ran away and the sweet thing tried to climb a tree and realized about 8 feet up that s/he couldn't do it! too clean and friendly (and clueless) to be a feral.

s/he appeared to be almost full grown, maybe just around 1 year old or just a smaller adult but youngish. medium length cat hairs - mostly black - some white - is anyone missing a cat?! i hope s/he finds home soon.

  • I saw a cat too when I was riding my bike in red hook last Wednesday. It was greyish black with some white strips. Kinda dirty and the poor thing looked scared, especially with all the cars driving by. I never had a pet before so I wasn't sure what to do, when I approached the cat, it ran away and hid behind a fenced park. I stayed for a few minutes but I guess it decided to stay inside the park. Probably a different cat.

I think that cat lives around there. I've seen it a few times playing on the grounds of the church on 7th / St. John's. Doesn't look lost.
