  • Good Footing Adventure, on 7th Avenue between 2nd and 3rd streets, or Modell's, across from the Atlantic Center.
  • Triangle Sports at Flatbush and 5th Ave
  • You can try DSW at the Atlantic Center. I bought a pair of waterproof Timberlands there.
  • No, no no! Tents and Trails is the best outdoor store in New York and is well worth getting out of the hood. I'm one of the most brooklyncentric people I know but would make an exception for this one. The staff makes this store awesome.
  • Yes to Triangle Sports. If they don't have it, they'll get it.
  • This wasn't the question, but Danner boots are my favorites. According to their website, FINEST OUTDOOR SPORTS, 161 68 ST, BROOKLYN, NY 11220 is the closest retailer.

I second that. they are the real deal. probably easier to get to on the 1/9 2/3 than trekking across the slope.
  • Tents & Trails is a very cool place, literally JAM PACKED full of STUFF! Thanks for reminding me about it! I work a few blocks away and haven't been there in a couple of years. They have some weird hours though. Sometimes they close at 6 which is a bit rough for working stiffs.

    Here's their actual website http://www.tenttrails.com/.
