CH south of Eastern Parkway

I recently moved to a building ON Eastern Parkway and Bedford (one block over from Franklin).
I frequent both north and south of the parkway and I can honestly say that I don't find one better than the other at this time. There are some new places opening up south of E.P. on Nostrand and I'm sure more places are going to come in all over the neighborhood.
If you found a great apartment south of E.P., I say take it!!! Everything is such a short walk from each other anyway.
I actually think living near Franklin is more of a benefit with the express train stop. -
There's a thread on here somewhere where we talk all about being a southie. North, IMO is "coming up" more than the south, particularly Classon/Franklin area.
-
Absolutely! North-side is coming up soon! We've got condos going up like summer weeds, and white girls moving in all over.
I just hope I can hold on long enough to get priced out...

I've lived on the southside for a few years and it is definitely an "off the grid" area. You either hear about Crown Heights North or Prospect Lefferts Garden, but never really anything about CH South.
I've actually started to dig that about this area, it's quiet, friendly and has some perks over CHN...but people aren't making a big fuss about it.
Sounds like you are new to the area, so....welcome to the nabe. -
I guess you hit it on the head about "quiet and friendly." I'm not THAT far south and tend to walk a minimum of 3-5 miles a day just doing "stuff," so the walk north, closer to Prospect Heights is nothing for me.
I wasn't far away before I moved here, near the 3rd street entrance to Prospect Park, and it's just amazing to us how friendly everyone is in C.H. - Park Slope is too cranky. We're looking to live in our current place long term, so a renovated 1500 sq ft apartment, for under market price, couldn't be passed up.
Howdy, Stranger!
