Martial Arts?

I'm looking for a productive outlet for the fat on my ass and the murder in my heart. Ideally, I'd love to take some form of martial art but I'm looking for recommendations in the Sunset Park/Park Slope area that won't fleece me - you know, hidden fees, can't progress unless you pay extortion-like dollars, that sort of thing.

Looking forward to Kung fu fightin'! Yeah...cheese...

I posted something earlier about looking for gyms in the Sunset park area. All I found was the Sunset Park pool

I would also love to know about karate or any kind of fitness classes. If you find anything let us know. Also if you need a work out partner PM me, because I live in Sunset Park and would love to have a work out partner.

I think the reply was actually about the gym in the Sunset Park Recreation Center. It's basic, but only $50 a year. There is a jujitsu place on 8th Avenue and 43rd Street, and there is a relatively new place on 5th Avenue in the high 30's that seems popular with the smaller set, but they might have some classes for adults as well. I'm sure there are more out there as well.

Sorry, I don't have the specific info on them.
