When is Olympic swimming going to be over?
When is the swimming going to be over? How many more gold medals and events can some of the same people get.
I don't like the coverage at all. But the worst thing I read was the story about the little girl who sang the anthem at the opening ceremonies. Apparently, she was lip syncing b/c the little girl who really sang it was thought to be too ugly to be shown on TV.

No kidding. When are they going to get to the more traditional, rugged events like these and get on some original Olympic shit:

if this was "when is beach volleyball going to be over," i'd agree, but i think the swimming has been fantastic.
yeah, phelps has won a lot, but come on, it's not like the other swimmers have been such slouches -- often the second place finish has also been below the previous world record. and that 4x100 relay was AMAZING. and kirsty coventry and katie hoff and natalie coghlin.... this is a really exciting year.
if you just don't like watching swimming or sports in general, then, yeah, the olympics probably aren't for you. and i have found some of the coverage a bit more jingoistic than in the past several games. but in general, i think it's great fun to watch and that there are lots of non-nbc channels (not to mention a century's worth of film on dvd) if you really don't like it.
to answer your question: most of the swimming events are this week. next week, mostly people running around in circles. -

Then May-Treanor turned her back to the president, offering her bikinied rear for one of the traditional slaps that volleyball players frequently give each other.
"Mr. President, want to?" she asked, repeating an offer she made when Bush gave a pep talk to the U.S. athletes before Friday's opening ceremonies. -
