Yeah, while it'd be cool to see some posts out of Equador, I would also implore her not to waste any precious time in another country sitting at a computer unless absolutely necessary. I would hope that posting on any board would be one of the LAST things anyone would think about in that situation.

hehe. well, those of you have been getting updates know why I´m not updating. when I´m online, I´m too busy updating you guys!

but the short of it is that after about 2 weeks here, which included cooking madness (3 meals a day for like 12 plus people), my family and I were starting to wind down, get ready for the rest of the visit, etc. but, sadly, on the 27th, we suffered a home invasion robbery. pretty scary - shotgun, machetes, 2.5 hours tied up, etc. I´ve since adopted a steak knife as my favorite weapon, though plan to learn how to use others for variety. we finally got wifi access at the house in the country but since the thieves stole all the computers, the wifi is kinda useless. life is whack sometimes, I suppose.

anyway, I´ll be back in badass brooklyn hopefully the 19th (if I get my passport on the 16th as the embassy promised - the thieves also stole my passport and visa form. jerks.) I´ll try to catch up once I get one of my other ancient wonders sitting in brooklyn up and running.

I'm sure you've already thought about this but since they took your passport you might want to look into whatever steps might help to protect you from identity theft. And take care of yourself emotionally, hon. We'll all be glad when you're back in the safe bosom of Brooklyn.
