Annual block party on Bergen between Classon and Grand... — Brooklynian

Annual block party on Bergen between Classon and Grand...

...has been going on all day and, as happens every year, they've been blasting bad reggae for hours and will presumably do so until 3 or 4 am.

I wouldn't mind if it weren't SO ridiculously loud. Olympics? Forget it. I was on the phone with a friend a few minutes ago and had to shout for her to hear me.

Sigh.

  • HEEEEERRRRRREMENOWWW

Ha. Sorry. Was just what came to mind.
  • I live right in front of it, fuck it fucking sucks and my neighbors are having a party too with DJ and everything, i think i might go out and get wasted so i can go to sleep with all that noise!!
  • Been blasting old school Salsa since i got home and managed to clean the bedroom, the kitchen and bathroom, i was cleaning like a maid, feel good about it, for a minute i thought about being a complete lazy ass, but i am glad i did not.THe music out there sucks!!
  • Its over, have you guys seen the moon?
  • Not over, but they turned it down at last.

Sneaky, thanks for not responding the way you did the last time someone posted about unacceptable noise.
  • hahahah, i want some peace sometimes too, it is not all chaos in my life , even though sometimes it seems like it. Stupid 24 mile race on!!
    hahha
  • i drove down Grand Ave toward Prospect earlier this evening and heard that lousy system playing that even lousier music. Today seemed as though most blocks in Bklyn were cordoned off for a block party.
  • There's a party on my roof tonight thrown by my neighbors that's pretty loud. Also, I can hear ANOTHER party from somewhere east of Franklin.

Tonight is party night in Crown Heights, it seems. Why am I sitting at home?
  • ...and yet another still rocking at the corner of Bergen and Brooklyn Ave...
  • The one on my block is still going. It's not the window-rattling volume it was earlier this evening, but it's still loud enough to keep me up. Just called the precinct to report it; the officer I spoke with said they should be able to get someone out soon, which is a more encouraging response than I usually get from them.
  • yesterday was dominican liberation day.

that may account for some of the loudness. at least the loud music that went late by us was good music.
