infant daycare needed next year

Hello:
I am having a heck of a time finding infant daycare that is local. I am due next march and really want to get a jump on this.

Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks!

    there is always the nanny-share option too, but I am sure you've already thought of that. good luck!

    Thanks, I have and will look into that as it gets closer..not sure that other women so early would be looking or whether nannys would yet know that they will be available so far in advance.

    One more question: are there nanny share resources? I don't really know how it works money wise...but it would be great.

    I don't know about established agencies or anything, but I think word of mouth, places like Park Slope Parents/Flatbush Family Network/KWT Neighbors would be good resources, if even just to ask other parents how they went about it. How long of a maternity leave do you have?

    thanks...i get only 6 weeks. I might take 8 but that's the max.

    disability, huh? I had to fight to get 12 weeks.

    i can take 12, but unpaid for the second 6. What's odd is that I can take 2 weeks before the due date and then 6 after. Not sure what happens if the kid is super late.

    I think my husband and I will be moving to Ocean Pwky and Cortelyou soon, and we're seriously considering opening up a certified family daycare (I'm a certified teacher with a 6 month old and we're trying to find ways for me to work out of the home).     Also, I know I could help you find others that would be interested..it's tough to find in brooklyn...
