can't see from my crib - i was going to say some sort of marching band.
-
I live on 8th and Union, they seem to be over my house
-
Seems like they're coming from St Johns and Underhill (my corner). Really loud here and close enough that I can smell it.
-
i could see them over the rooftops! very cool
-
they were in the usual location, north end of long meadow. why, no clue.
-
Hairspray with Travolta is screening in Prospect Park and it's such a great film that it opens with fireworks.

no comment.

I thought someone said it had something to do with E.T. being shown in the park tonight?

Geez.. That was really loud!
I knew they were screening Hairspray... had no interest.. I didn't realize the film needed to be proceeded by all that noise. Fireworks are a drag if you miss the visual and onlty get the sound. -
that was weird...did they occur before or after the film? I love fireworks, but found it odd there was no real promotion of them.
Kid thought they were awesome, though. -
i believe it was in place of the traditional last day of school movie and fireworks party, which was rained out this year.
-
i heard it too yesterday, and im on 11th street.
why would they want fireworks for a movie? -
It was pretty cool, if unexpected. We both jumped out of our chairs. Of course, they started right after we put our babies to bed, but they didn't seem to notice (!).

I was in front of the library checking out the works. Maybe 5 minutes after they ended a woman came up to me very distressed- she claimed her dog had a heart attack from the noise and died. She wanted to go to the library to complain (she didn't seem....well). She was upset that no one ever asked her opinion about how she would feel about the fireworks in the neighborhood and she's been living her "forever." It was sad, but really, really strange though. She wasn't crying, but seemed alternately distressed with real emotions followed by insane-type mutterings. I asked her if she had called the vet. She got mad at me and asked why, all they would do is tell her her dog was dead.
She went into the library and that's the last I saw of her. Made the works less fun for me! -
i was at the movie and it was a super-fun time with lots of kids, but FREEZING. and yeah, the fireworks were first, then the movie. i think because the film went so late, and ya know, fireworks are loud.
-
great fireworks last night! i enjoyed them from a fire escape on warren street.
