suggestions for a baby shower?

looking to seat 16, a fun place that has a liquor licensee and has enough of a scene to placate a few rather uppity manhattanites.

Thanks!

  • Have you considered the park?

The weather is still gorgeous, and with a very small effort it can be an absolutely unforgettable and unique baby shower.
Buy a few dozen balloons, those can be delivered right to the park by any party vendor. Bring a few blankets, a cooler with boxed wine and soft drinks and some plastic glasses. For food, try Enzo Pizza (16st and PPW), it is fantastic and right by the park. Or get a picnic catered by either Grab of Beer Table (both on 14st and 7Ave).
  • The Park is a bad idea...

Last I checked, uppity manhattanites don't like grass or dirt... not to mention the potential for rain and mud. I suppose if you stuffed them with cheap pizza and malt liquor you'd have a chance of getting out of there with your reputation in tact... but think of your children's future for christ's sake.

I think Nana could be fun... that place never gets much mention 'round this board.
  • For a group of 16, the Chocolate Room is a great space. A chocolate themed party is always a hit.
  • try some places on 5th ave.
I think stone park has a private room.
    Scottadito
You could try on Smith street too.
For the uppity manhanttan types- you should try to pick some where close to a train. Or are they that uppity that they will drive in... yikes.

    off topic:
I love the furball in name bar.
I used to have it as my screen saver.
  • Scottadito has a really nice private room.
