NFL Ticket?
I have a friend coming into town in a few weeks from Cleveland. He is already hounding me about finding a place so he can watch his Browns lose. Does anyone know of any bars in the area that have NFL Ticket and will be airing all the games? The last thing I want to do is trek into Times Square to go to ESPN Zone like he has already suggested.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sure, there are a couple of places better than Times Square...
On 7th Avenue and 8th Street - the Carriage House. Cheapish beer, plenty of seats (but get there earlier than your game begins, especially if its a 4pm game). The only food comes out of a deep fryer, but its an ok place.
200 Fifth - Frat bar type place, not much seating, but good bar, good food. -
Loki Lounge on 5th near 2nd Street - all football crowd (hipsters watch football this much?) plus fans of every team, including Cleveland. Bartender is also basically prefab for the Sunday afternoon crowd, his nights off the place is like a tomb. Plus you can bring in food from outside.

I highly recommend Loki. Lots of TV screens and laid back crowd you can order in some food from Bonnie's Grill.

lighthouse on 5th near carroll also has the nfl package

200 5th is the best bar to see football in, hands down. Yes, it's crowded, but it's a lot of fun and if you want to get involved in banter with other teams' fans it's heated but good natured and never personal (unless Philly fans are involved).
There are even a couple of Browns ex-pats there.
Also, I'm not sure but I think the Boys/Browns is the late game on TV this weekend because the Giants play Thursday and the Jets play early. So far as I can tell they're on Fox... -
I always found 200 5th way too crowded, especially in the early weeks of the season. Ocean's has Sunday Ticket, but isn't all that big (the bar side I mean). For a more suburban vibe the Wild Wings place at the Atlantic Center has tons of TVs and shows all the games.

Yeah, 200 5th is crowded, and it is the most crowded weeks one and two. However, if you want a rowdy but fun environment there are none as good as it.

BASEBALL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!! September and October are for baseball. PLEASE wait on the football for a few more weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Woo, go baseball!
I do dig the veggie burger at 200 Fifth. -
Fuck...stay away from the Carriage House unless you want to get stink-eyed by a bunch of grizzled drunks.

Subject: Bars to watch football
I would suggest Angry Wade's in Caroll Gardens or The Dram Shop in Park Slope. Both have the NFL and college football ticket. Wade's has a grill outside with bratwurst, burgers and hotdogs (even veggie dogs). Both are fun with lots of fans of various teams.
Howdy, Stranger!
