  • I stopped by yesterday because there were people setting up inside...they plan to open in the next few days. Yay!
  • I saw a bread delivery this morning, 4 bags' worth. they must be open now. I would have thought they'd have made it more clear, though.

  • My wife and I went last night. It was very good. They're trying really innovative combinations like grilled pear with salmon moouse, deep fried broccoli with black bean sauce, and a warm butter bean dip for the house bread. I especially thought one of the desserts, chocolate cake with a ginger egg cream drink on the side was really appealing and fun. You're supposed to sip the ginger drink between bites of the chocolate cake. Worked for me! And they even have a good grappa.
  • We went on Sunday night and loved it: the cc machines were down, so they were only accepting cash (thus, I cannot speak about the wine list...or the grappa). We LOVED the warm butter bean dip. Split a very nice tuna tartare special with soy/lime vinagrette; I had the hangar steak with kimchi perogies (!! so delicous) and he had the olive oil poached salmon - both were quite tasty and I'm a bit sad that the perogies weren't available on their own as a bar snack. Small, but interesting dessert list - the waitress was super-nice and comped us a homemade vanilla pudding with miso-roasted bananas, which may be my new favorite comfort food.

The service was friendly and although we're lucky enough to live 2 blocks away, it was definitely a travel-worthy meal.
  • just got back from there and had the roast chicken with truffle jus (black not white but still good) and hanger steak which was super tender. the squash puree with it was delicious but the kimchi pierogies - not what i was expecting. unsure how i feel about kimchi flavored potatoes but i didn't hate them. for dessert we also had the vanilla pudding with homemade vanilla wafers and miso-soaked bananas. great sweet-savory taste.

i'm interested to see what else he does with the menu but this is a good start.
