Dermatologist in the Slope?

I'm from Florida, so it's time for my annual skin cancer screening. Can anyone recommend a good dermatologist in Park Slope?

Mark has been my family's dermatologist for many years. He is an extraordinary physician.
  • Dr. Frankel... the offices above barnes and Nobles on 7th Ave. I don't have the number handy now but he will be easy to locate and an outstanding dermatologist. I would not recommend Dr. Zelaya, who is located on PPW. In other threads his name has come up and some people like him but he does a lot of cosmetic stuff whereas Dr. Frankel is more the thorough kind of doctor you want for a screening.
You go see a dermatologist once a year? Good for you. I know it should be on the list of yearly visits like gyn exams but I get lazy with that and I know everyone would be on the safer side if they saw a dermatologist for a yearly screening.
  • Thanks for the recs. I call it my annual screening, but I always forget. The last dermo I went to told me to not come back but instead to take digital photos of my skin. Yeah, right, that's not why I have insurance.
  • Prez.... though that suggestion of digital photos sounds pretty nuts.. so often it is the shape/ borders of a blip on the skin that lead to diagnoses of whatever.

Call Frankel... he will see you in the flesh (lol) and won't ask you send pictures.
  • Oh, the dermotologist didn't intend for me to send her the pictures... she wanted me to stop wasting her time and look at them myself. She did a lot of cosmetic procedures, so I'm sure I was a low-paying profit client.
  • Thanks for the clarification... totally missed that..lol.
  • Dr Frankel is the best! His number is 718-369-3559.
  • I could imagine that the photos are to help you notice if a new mole, etc appears. I certainly have trouble remembering if something suddenly appeared or has been there forever.
