Hi,

We're a young professional couple looking for a new home in Brooklyn. My husband, Lucas, will be graduating from Columbia at the end of the year, and we'll be vacating our student housing on the UWS. Brooklyn has always felt more like home to us, so we're looking forward to the move. Hoping to rent a 1-2 bedroom apartment for November 1 - though the date is flexible. Any leads will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Katy - I'm assuming that since you are posting on this board you are looking at Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill or Carroll Gardens. This area for that price is tough, not impossible but tough, especially for a two bedroom. You should check out craigslist to get an idea of price range and also to try and find no fee apartments. Otherwise you'll need to go through a broker and pay a fee. I like Prudential Douglas Elliman on Court Street for this area - you could also get more room for less money in other areas of Brooklyn. Good luck with your search, you will love Brooklyn.
