I asked and he does not know where Billy lives. He messed up he said by not asking, He thought about it when he left. Did you find any info? -
Bob Horan,
I can ask some one, what year you talking about regarding the club/dance hall.
Since thats not coming along, how about Coney Island Astro Land, I don't think they will save it this time. Condo's, shopping are just a matter of time.
For years my brother would take either or both sons on the yearly cyclone ride. His oldest was late 20's and they were still doing it. I think 2-3 yrs. back he stopped. Infact he went on a real crazy one at Great Adventure & that was the end of that tradition, He felt it in the head & body. shhhhhhhhh he didn't tell them that. -
Bob H.
Sorry about that, you did say the 1960's regarding that Club & it was in Bklyn. I'll ask a person or 2 , by that time I'm sure you will have the answer. -
carol, i sent marcy a picture, saw your message. janet are you up?

GOOD MORNING TERRY
DID YOU HAVE THAT GLASS OF WINE ?I KNOW WHAT A STRAIN THIS IS FOR YOU WITH ALL THIS PLANNING FOR THE REUNION. HOW ABOUT PLANNING FOR THE NEXT.HA HA
RALPH -
Carol DL,
Well, we can only hope about Coney Island. It was a great, funky and wonderful place. Yeah, I rode the Cyclone a zillion times (and each year for a while, they would run it in reverse one day). I also can relate somewhat to the Siix Flags experience. The last time we were there (not too long ago) we went on every ride.....every roller coaster. Discovered that it was not a good thing to eat any of that greasy food from food stalls before going on those rides. Other than the GI distress, physically it was OK. Good training for my wife Arlene who is still training her horse and gets thrown onto the ground sometimes (when the horse freaks out over something she hasn't seen before - like a motorcycle or bunch of wild turkeys).
The club I am talking about was there is the 1960s (when you were Little Girl). -
......I say "bunch" of turkeys because I know it is not "flock" or "gaggle" and it is too early in the morning to look up the correct term for a bunch of turkeys. Hey, maybe it's "blog".......sorry folks, only kidding.

Bob Horan
There was the Club 802 on 8th Ave . Plus the club 1717 on 86th and 17th Ave. Also the Penthouse on 88th street. Another was the Parakeet club on I believe on 89th. I guess I am showing my age by visiting all these establishments. There was another one on New Utrecht Ave and 62nd don't remember the name.
Lizzie
I wish you the best and hope to see you when you get back. If not keep in touch. -
Janet,
You have to have the dog stop making crank calls in the middle of the night. -

-
Franny Bruno,
There were a few posts that I put on the "thread" which had to do with the Statue of Liberty (though not specifically stated). I mentioned how we would have picnics on the hill in Greenwood Cemetery and look out to the harbor and the photo of me in my kayak (see facebook) in front of the twin towers not long before 9/11/2001 was taken as we paddled up the Hudson River after stopping in front of the Statue of Liberty. Every summer (starting with the summer of 2001 when towers were still there), I have done at least one day-long kayak trip from Liberty Park, past the Statue of Liberty where we always take photos and then on to the looooong paddle around Manhattan (first over to Governor's Island, up the East River, past Hell's Gate, then up the Harlem River to Spuyten Duyvil (Dutch for "spitting devil") around to the upper Hudson River (north of George Washington Bride) and then 14 more miles down the Hudson to return to the starting point at Liberty Park, New Jersey. -
Terry
No one has mentioned bringing Manhattan Specials (made in Brooklyn) to the reunion. I will pick up a case to bring. -
Subject: Hi Georgette
It's Ronnie Jackson. Hope all is well. Sorry that I cannot make the reunion - I know that everyone is going to have a terrific time. -
