anyone live on that block? Mostly big buildings right, not many brownstones? There's that beautiful church on that street - don't remember the name of it.

Friend of mine has a tip on an apt. there - wanted to know what the feel was like?

Couldn't be easier transportation wise, so that's cool. Any other inputs?

Large apartment buildings on the south side and run down attached homes on the north side. The Bedford Armory provides an assortment of good deed do-ers at all times of the day and night. The Peter Young Shelter also provides an assortment of neighborhood characters. There is plenty of drug traffic in the area so you never have to worry about getting your fix. The residents of that cute block love to share their culture day and night by playing nice music, drinking, scattering chicken bones and sharing pleasent conversation.

A broker was supposed to show me a place on that block (2br rent stabilized 1550$ and "huge") but we couldn't get into the unit. Anyway, yes Nostrand and Pacific is a hotspot corner for all the reasons mentioned above.

I guess feel it out. What I've learned is everyone has a different comfort zone and tolerance for noise/crime/children/whatevs.

Actually I couldn't get to meet my friend, so he saw the place without me. A barely lega basement apt. w/ no power so the owner was showing the apt. by zippo.

Friend deemed apt/owners too shady and the block way too creepy - just eyeballed by everyone on both sides of the street. But at $800 for a 1 bed, he had to check it out.

Gorgeous tenant in the same building though. So that's something.
