Chicken Soup?
I've come down with an end-of-summer cold and the only thing that sounds good to me is some really good chicken soup... not matzoh ball, and not Chinese soup, but good, old-fashions, homemade (tasting) chicken soup, with lots of veggies and real pieces of chicken in it!
Any recommendations on where to get it, preferably in the No-Slope/Boerum Hill/Ft. Greene/PH area? Delivery is a plus, but I might be able to convince my husband to go pick it up for me...
Thanks!

If you want home cooking ya gotta cook -
True, but he isn't much of a cook... and I was hoping not to make him spend all day in the kitchen...

I don't think I could make any of them, but it something to do when you are sick

The spanish restaurant El Gran Castillo on Flatbush and Park Pl with the good rotisserie chicken has excellent chicken soup.Feel better.I think that is the name. The one on the corner at the intersection of Flatbush,Carlton and Park Pl.

Perhaps try Union Market? I believe they make and sell chicken soup.
-
Tempo Presto has good soup, which I think changes daily. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have chicken noodle.
-
Los Politios on 5th and St. John makes a great chicken soup, lots of chicken and veggies.
-
Fairway. If you don't have the time to make it yourself has excellent chicken soups.
-
I like Park Cafe's and El Gran Castillo's chicken soup. Probably the two best in PS/PH IMO.

Nuevo Taco on 5th near 12th makes a great chicken chillate (?) soup, that's great for what ails you. Super red spicy chicken soup.
-
I'll second Tacos Nuevo. Excellent chicken soup.

I make awesome chicken soup... For future reference lol
My mom says it's Jewish penicillin. -
I didn't know Tacos Nuevo went the sopa de pollo route. I tried their pulpo soup and was floored on how great it tastes. I believe Honduras Maya on 5th Ave next to Park Slope Plumbing (Prospect Ave) may make excellent chicken soup as well. Again, I tried their seafood soup and loved it. You have to get over the dingy decor though.
Howdy, Stranger!
