I ran into Carol Alaia in Felix's years ago and she was with her husband. Me and Marilyn were always friends with her and invited her every where. She was in my class and very quiet like me. Her sister lived on 22nd Street, above 6th Ave. Her name was Connie and she may still live there.

Sorry I have not been blogging, I've been busy adding people to our reunion list. It's just wonderful all the people that are going to be there. I hope no one listens to us and just shows up at the door !
Guess who just signed on? The GUZZO BROTHERS, Joe, John and Vinny. Also Joey DeLeo and his sister Annette Aversano. This is just too much excitement. I wish it were sunday right now.
LINDAY JOY - I'm so glad you're coming as well. I was in touch with your sister. I was asking if you were coming. Glad you'll be there!

Hi Everyone,
Many people are asking "why wasn't I on the list of items to bring to the reunion"? We only picked half the list (mostly those who I had emails for (lol), to bring some items. I did not need 120 bottles of soda so that is why I picked half of you.
But if anyone was not included on the list and wants to bring something, A PILE OF $100 DOLLARS BILLS TO ME WOULD BE JUST FINE !
Terry, I'll bring the 4th Gallon of Milk. We have Ralphie bringing two gallons, Judy bringing one and I'll bring the other. Should we get more? -

Carol Alaia's mother made the best spaghetti sauce ever. She was a great cook and once asked me if I wanted a piece of hadalug pie. I said sure. After taking a bite, I asked her to repeat what kind of pie it was, looking meaty, and she clearly enunciated "heart and lung" pie. Into the napkin went the partially chewed innards. Carol was a sweet girl. She had a habit of twisting and pulling one lock of hair on the side of her head until it was about six inches longer than the rest. You couldn't tell, though, since her hair was so curly, the longer piece just sprung back into place.

Also, the floors in Carol Alaia's house were uneven. I remember her rolling a ball from the front room and it rolled all the way to the kitchen--the entire length of the apartment. Walking in that apartment was like walking uphill and downhill. I spent many Sunday afternoons there with her, enjoying authentic Italian dinners.

Carol DL - Nope, I didn't mix them up, Danny had black hair and was shorter than Pete... I remember Joeys Aversano's sister, her name was Donna... Her father used to coach our neighborhood football team "The 20th Street Bulldogs ".. I am probably 2 years younger than Pete, I think.... I am 52... Ask him if he remembers the Gorinis (Dominick) from 19th st. , We were always together, I bet he will remember me that way .. !!

All though it was mensioned the Sanders Movies is where I saw The EXCORSIT (I Think I spelled that right?) For some reson I laughed through the whole movie.. I was 12 years old then and Partying a little already (just a little :roll: ) How about in the early 70's rock concerts in Prospect park on Weds. nights.. I go down or should I say up 23rd st and see those Condo's where the park used to be and it blows my mind. I don't know of any other park in the city that was ever closed and on the other side (24st side) its just a fenced in lot Where the hand ball courts where.. I used to be playing on them from early morning to night then go home shower,eat and come back out until the weee hours..or just meet at the beach in the morning for the day... I would have had a heart attack if I tried that now. Now at nine o'clock i'm setting alarms so I could get to bed LOL. Hi Annmarie, Frannny La Grecca, April if your reading and Mongo.. Terry Angelo, I just read what you said about you finding a girl for me (Your a Riot LOL) I do pretty good on my own..(even though I told Annmarie on the phone I'm now Bald and about 350 pounds). BUTTT if its happens to be some one that nice.. then I don't think that I should stop you.. LOL ... Like I said before Your Doin a Great Job!!! :P

MARILYN HORAN Do you remember me ? Carol (Elliot's sis ) Joanie Fairchild was my childhood buddy. About Carol Alaia - When I first told my husband about this site and all the stories, all he wanted to know was did anyone mention Carol Alaia. Since then her name has serviced many times but your post made me see her because of what you said about twisting that strand of hair. She was nice.

oh my god , your really gonna scream now. I can't even type this, gotta stop laughing. She can't place you. It's almost there but she just can't get it. Did you live with cousins same house , she said what WAS your address. Her uncle Harry was the other coach.
Donna is 5-6 yrs. younger then me but she is my go to person when I don't recognize a name. I know many faces in the neighborhood but not always names. -
Carol DL - Yep, my cousin diane, and Anthony lived with us when their house on President St. burned down...Then they moved two houses away..The Aversano's lived on 20 th st. in a green house... Directly across from her was an empty lot, She could see straight thru to 19 Th st. that was the back of my house . !! I also had cousins in the house next door, Lori and Michael... My address was 320....they lived at 318, and my other cousins lived at 324..

MARILYN HORAN & MOVIES
I have to say I enjoyed reading the interactive things they used to do in the movies. You don't have that anymore. Movies were a big thing back then.
Does anyone remember the movie " THE TINGLER" I believe Vincent Price was in that also. I remember my brother took me to see it . The sound effects which was a heart beat getting louder & faster was often heard coming out of my dear brothers mouth.
When we came home from seeing it he did not turn the light on so we were in a dark hallway and he told me the TINGLER was on the floor & he kept turning the lights off & on like a strobe light so all I saw was a Black leather glove all crinkled up, yes to me it was the TINGLER . I have to say I NEVER to this day ever screamed that loud & that long. Of course seeing it many years later it did seem kind'a silly. -

you mentioned that you hope people don't pay you no mind about coming, that you wish all would attend; when i mentioned to Wendy about the reunion and that you were going to be in town, she expressed a wish to see you. How long are you going to be in town and are you staying by Geraldine's?

LINDA JOY; Woman, yes i remember the name Jimmy Pepper, if i remember correctly he was handsome, did i have a crush on him or did you have a crush on him? I can't seem to remember. Oh Well!!!!! So tell me are u going to the reunion, and how are u getting there call me in between changing diapers. i know what you mean, i love being with Victoria Rose. Linda you must remember Popcorn from 12th Street? He is doing well, i believe he is living in Portland, Oregon. -
