Hello everyone

As you will see below the City Council Hearing has been postponed to next week. Please spread the word ASAP

There are still three very important events to attend this week

Margaret McFarlane, Secretary of 1152 Pacific Street HDFC
will be presenting our letters at the above press conference.

2. September 19:
A. 9 AM - Press Rally
City Hall steps

B. Same date 9/19
10 AM -State Assembly Hearing on moving the intake center

Because of the change in the date for the City Council Hearing, we will probably have to get a new flier out. In the meantime, do what you can to give everyone a heads-up about the change and please do all you can to get people to come out for the event in Crown Heights North on the 18th and the 2 back-to-back events in Manhattan on the 19th

Comments

  • Did anyone go the the Assembly hearing today? I am curious about how it went. I couldn't get out of work so I missed it.
  • it was well attended by the community and our Assemblymen posed some tough questions to (DHS) Commissioner Robert V. Hess, and (OTDA) Commissioner David A. Hansell who both left before the community got to give their testamony.

we presented 1800+ letters of opposition to the mayor at the Tish James' press conference prior to the hearing, bringing the total sent to date to just shy of 2400

    the letter writing campaign continues
and it is imperative that the community stays vocal
