Suggestions for early Sunday evening
I have a wonderful business associate from out of the country visiting NYC. We are meeting Sunday at 5:00 pm. Any suggestions for what to do? She is a 60-something woman from England, very well traveled. I imagine we will eat dinner at some point, but need some recommendations of stuff to do before that.
Will be meeting her in Manhattan. Are museums open at that time? Any shows around then? She gets around okay, but don't want to just make her walk around for a couple of hours before dinner.
Help! Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

I think Sunday is the final day/evenings of the San Gennaro feast

The South Street Seaport is touristy area but that sounds like what might work. Museums on Sunday are closed by 5pm and walking inside is still walking.

walk on/over the Brooklyn Bridge and have a nice dinner at Bridge Cafe (on the Manhattan side, just North of the Seaport)

There are quite a few broadway shows that play at 7pm on Sunday night. Lion King and I believe Mary Poppins starts at 6:30. Being that it's September you might be able to get last minute tickets (it's slow time for Broadway).

Excellent suggestions, thanks. This gives me lots of options. For people not from New York, San Gennaro seems cool and the Seaport is a great option too; great views of the Brooklyn Bridge.
I can always rely on Brooklynian.

broadway shows are good and all, but...
I would tell her that we're going to the coney island hot dog eating contest, blindfold her, then take her to Le Trapeze, the swingers club on 27th st.

The Met is open till 5:30. The Cooper Hewitt till 6 and the Jewish Museum till 5:45 (you can enter at 5:45 and still spend some time)
Around the corner on 93rd and Madison is Bistro Du Nord serves a nice prix fix ($20 cash only) till 7 PM -
There are boat rides from South Street and that could be a great way to see the waterfalls exhibit.
Howdy, Stranger!
