* Moderators wanted

As many of you know from my whinging about it at happy hour, I recently started a graduate program, and will be increasing my courseload starting next month. Because I suspect it will be impossible to balance my fulltime job, additional schoolwork, and my various unremunerative hobbies, I am seeking to replace myself as moderator.

The pay sucks, but you get the satisfaction of universal name recognition at happy hour as well as the ability to track IPs and laugh at regular users who engage in sockpuppetry. Possibly we could have different moderators for different parts of the board (e.g. Park Slope, Crown Heights, etc.), if people are interested in that.

If you're interested in the job, let me or Andy know.

ETA: Being a mod doesn't mean reading everything on the board. Usually I look at threads that move very quickly and/or have a lot of anonymous posts. Often if there's trouble, people PM me to tell me about it.

  • I think that this belongs in the classifieds... ;-)
  • Thanks to those who have responded by PM. I've been passing your notes on to Andy.
  • EmilyM, you'll be missed ... :cry:
  • Thank you! But don't worry, I'll still post. I'd just like the freedom not to look at the board when I don't really have time. We've already had some great volunteers--people who hang out on the board a lot anyway, which is the best kind of candidate--so there shouldn't be too much change.
