Ralph, I forgot about the riceball special yum! A riceball with ricotta and sauce on it. That's it have to go to Joe's when I go to Brooklyn. lol Now I'm craving Panelle and riceball special. The codfish with the scarole and beans was also delicious.
Christina, ytou have to try "Joes" when you come in again.
Terry I was going to say I know Michael LaSala But when he said his age, I said wrong one. Patsy is right couldn't remember M. LaSalle right name. I was trying to remember his wife. Then I saw your posts-Flo is her name.
He lived in the Garden apts. aren't his cousins Michael and Joseph Carretti?
If I could ever find that 6th grade picture, that I didnt want to lose (so I put it away real good, where? who knows) All the names are on the back. Not all graduated with Margaret Dritto, but all were together in 6th grade.
I remember Robert Orlandi, I think he was mentioned on the other site. Diane Wozny, Carole Derevjanick, Ed Frustaci, Ronnie Jackson, Diana Scharalli, Kevin Kelly, I think Ed Burns but he could be from 77 sunset strip. lol.
Frank Lupia, Michael Maresca. They could also be mixed with the 2nd sixth grade not sure. Rose Licata, Marie Grimaldi, Cecelia Verba, Christine Mazewicki, Carl and Irene Skuza-Michael Rumola that's what I coud remember. -

Michael LaSala - I think I know who you are! You went to school with my younger brother, Joseph Falcone. Aren't you living (or were living) in Las Vegas?
Loretta -
Hi Carol: Sorry for the delay (been workin', ya know.....ugh). Anyway, yes to both you and TAS, I did hear the music at the reunion.....sorta in the background. Even though I am a "metalhead", I like to get out on the floor with some thumping dance music - I have a good time shaking my groove thing. It didn't seem to be the "venue" for it......maybe the next reunion. As far as heavy metal, the metal stuff can be LOUD.......we were at a Slayer concert and found out that the physicists are right, sound moves in waves. In this case, tidal waves. The music hits you in the chest and shakes the walls and floors. I go to this concerts usually with my son and his girlfriend (and sometimes their friends) and all of us bring ear plugs in case some of the music is too loud. In that case, we use the plugs for some of the opening acts which may not be that good. Why go deaf over bad music, right ?
-
Anthony, Sorry to hear about Kevin. So many young people gone.

Loretta Falcone (Napoli)

FRAN -
Hey here is a very specific bit of trivia and if you can tell me anything about it, feel free. We lived at 352 20th Street and when we were kids, there was a mother up the block and across the street (closer to 7th Avenue on 20th) who every afternoon would be yelling out the window "Antoinette, JoJo, Antoinette, JoJo......." until they came home. I must say that I don't remember actually ever seeing an Antoinette or JoJo appear......I am assuming they existed. If you know who they were (or if you happen to be either Antoinette or JoJo), please respond.
-
HI FRAN
ARE YOU SURE I DONT REMEMBER TOTTO HAVING A DAUGHTER
I ASK MY UNCLE HE SAID THAT HE DID NOT HAVE A DAUGHTER BUT
I DONT KNOW FOR SURE WHERE DOES SHE WORK HERE IN NEW YORK? -
Anthony - I was reading your post about your cousins and I was wondering - are you related to Joanann Umbria? She is my aunt through marriage. She was married to my Uncle Butch (Tommy Wysokowsi). They divorced years ago, but she and my cousin Jason still keep in touch with my mother. My uncle passed away 3 years ago.
Loretta -
HUM I JUST ASKED SCARPACI HE SAID HE DONT THINK TOTTO HAD ANY KIDS HE HAD NEPHEW NAMED STEVEN BUT THATS ALL HE KNOWS
-
YES LORETTA JOANANN IS MY DADS SISTER AND I REMEMBER YOUR UNCLE VERY WELL HE WAS A REALLY NICE GUY WE HAD LOADS OF FUN TOGETHER
ANTHONY -
LORETTA I ASK ONE IF YOUR BROTHER IS MIKE IS IT
ANTHONY -
Hey Anthony! It was so nice (as always) hanging you with Ann Ellen. The world is just too small isn't it. Knowing you all these years I had no idea you were from up 6th Ave. I just thought you came to 24 Street to fight. Weren't you cousins with Mickey and Loretta Errigo?
Spoke to a few old neighbors who remembered Roselle as a baby and knew he had a daughter, and only child, many older people remembered her and her Mom.
See you Saturday morn. -
Anthony - yes, my older brother is Mike. were you guys in the same grade at St. John's?
Michael LaSala - how the heck are you? How are things in Vegas? -
Bob - I know the answer (sort of) to your trivia. The jlady you heard calling for Antoinette & JoJo was their grandmother Nettie. A & J lived in my apartment building on 7th Avenue between 19 & 20th Street. JoJo would now be 55 (my older brother's age). Antoinette would be a few years older. I remember that she was a very pretty girl. She married a young guy who was our milkman. Don't know what happened to them after they left 7th avenue.
Loretta -
YES FRAN LORETTA AND MICKEY ARE MY CUUSINS MY MOTHERE SIDE
YES LORETTA YOUR BROTHER AND ME WHERE IN THE SAME CLASS AT ST. JOHNS I REMEMBER HANGING OUT WITH MIKE AT YOUR HOUSE IT WAS ON 7 AVE YOUR MOM WOULD MAKE US PEANUT BUTTER SANDWI.
BOY DID WE GET IN TROUBLE TOGETHER ALOT LOL -
AND YES FRAN I CAME TO 24 STREET TO BEAT UP ON OLC GUYS LOL
BUT IF YOU REMEMBER I DID LIVE ON 24 STREET A FEW YEARS AS A VERY YOUNG LAD LOL BUT THEN AS I GOT OLDER ST JOHNS BOYS WOULD COME DOWN TO OLC TO PICK A FIGHT WITH THEM -

Subject: Slayer vs. Dion
Bob Horan--I don't know how many people out there on the blog would agree that Slayer (et. al.) is a step up or progression from Dion and the Belmonts (et.al.) If you like to shake your groove thing to the oldies then at least the oldies serve a purpose, unlike heavy metal which, from your description, seems something you have to protect yourself from with ear plugs and possibly a defibrillator. Don't forget your roots, my brother, and remember: Metallica did not put the bomp in the bompabompabomp, nor the dip in the dip de dip de dip. So the next time you want to ramalamadingdong switch on the oldies and get down in your boogity boogity shoos. -
Carol,
Now I'm going to pass by 19st and see this amzing house next to mine lol .

JANET HORAN - where are you tonite, resting for tomor ? Get your camera ready. We did Bklyn (so nice ) and now to Manhattan to Trinity Church etc... The 3 of us with the camera's again. By the way do you know the story of the firefighter Stephen Siller who raced through the Battery tunnel in full gear from Bklyn. I have story for you.
If anyone is interested, its a beautiful story, what started out in 2002 with 2,700 runners/walkers retracing his steps to the trade center location that he took is NOW 2008 ........... 20,000 people !!!! I'm sure there is a web sight maybe in his name or titled " Tunnels to Towers Run" 100's of flags are held up through the tunnel by firefighters .& they don't leave till the last runner/walker makes it through.
God Bless his wife & 5 children, they must be so proud of the love. -
I AM WATCHING "DANCING WITH TH STARS". I LOVE CLORIS LEACHMAN, BUT TIME FOR HER TO DANCE HER WAY OFF THE SHOW. LOL
-
Hey Marilyn, I think you better lend Carol one of your adult diapers.....you got her peeing all over the dance floor for god's sake. By the way, I heard that the last time that Dion gave a concert, they had to use a defibrillator just to get him to move and when he heard them say he had to move he started headed for the john......oh but too late, he put the poopapoopapoo in the pantsawantsacca. So, get with it sister Marilyn.....put n some goth outfit and I'll talk you to a Marilyn Manson concert. Then you'll really be my Twisted Sister. Show me those horns and dive off the stage.
-
God.....I can't spell. That was "put on some goth oufit" and I'll take you to a Marilyn Manson concert". Guess I've been hit in the head too many times in the mosh pit.
Howdy, Stranger!
