oHHHH! lol! ok- I thought it was a restaurant. There IS actually a place right by there (closer to Smith), a tiny little place with a fireplace that seems like it would be a really nice spot for a romantic date. can't remember the name...

No, this is new. I used to work at Union Smith Cafe a couple of years back and this place was definitely not there. This is on the Cobble Hill side of the bridge....

Yeah there is a new place there, I can't remember the name, but just opened in the past few months I believe.

I haven't eaten in Two Toms in years but they make amazing pork chops. there is no menu.. It runs like we have Pork, fish an beef tonight.. we can prepare it these 3 ways. We have these pastas tonight.. you can have it one of these 3 sauces. Forget the place if you like salads or veggies that often come with Italian food. Old paneling on the wall.. no decor.. but if you have never tried it... go for it..

yeah, just watch out for the bill! We went there once many years ago after I had been there for an anniversary party. And while the food was amazing, the bill was huge!!!!

I know! But I spoke to the guys last weekend and they said it should be about 6 weeks... just have to get their permits in order. I can't wait!

Taco Nuevo Mexico (5th Ave, between 11th & 12th streets)

The food is just incredible. Unfortunately, the delivery often has problems. They have a VERY strong preference for deliverying to the streets in the teens, rather than the single digits. "5th street. NOT 15th street. Just 5. 1-2-3-4-5. 5th street."

The food is worth it though. Authentic. Yum.

I think it's called PS Coffee & Tea. It is great. The woman who runs the place is really nice. I love that they carry Ito-En green tea in bags, and UK/Euro chocolate bars. I wish it was closer to my end of the Slope, but then her rent would've been jacked up to $14,000 a month by now and she would've had to leave.

Is it ever open? I constantly go on strolls up and down 5th avenue on weekends and random days off, all times of day, and I always find it's closed. Having passed it 50 times in the past 2 years, I must have seen it open... maybe 5 times?

It's cool when it is open - dig the place - but how does it make money if it's always closed?

You guys are really missing out on a hidden gem in park slope....
