  • I think its always done in honor of the Feast of St. Francis. It should be coming up soon - usually in the beginning of Oct. A few churches around here usually have the blessing of the animals. I think one in Cobble Hill does it and one in Park Slope.
  • The Feast of St Francis of Assisi is October 4th, usually moved to the nearest Sunday. The blessing could be at a any of the Catholic, Episcopal or other Churches named for St Francis, or at a Church run by one of the many groups of Franciscan Friars or Sisters, or at any Church wanting to honor St Francis. Basically, it could be anywhere. Hopefully, Carnivore will give us some clue.
