I'm thinking about moving into an apartment off the Gates Ave (J/Z/M) subway stop in Brooklyn. The apartment's on the corner of Quincy and Patchen Ave. What area is this considered? Bed-Stuy? How safe is it for a single female? (I don't consider being white in an all-black neighborhood dangerous, so spare me the "watch your back, white girl" bedtime stories.)
