  • not that I'm defending him! just curious!

Wow! Based on what i've read so far, i'm guessing different points of view aren't really welcome here, but I'll give it a try anyway.
I only hope that ellis can see the transarency exhibited on this page. It is the unfortunate fact that with the positive aspects of recognition & exposure, come the negatives, ie: individuals who let jealousy get the best of them. As evidenced here, these might be the kind of people who spend too much time talking shit on an online bulletin and not enough time actually going out and impacting the world in any real or meaningful way.
As for "shameless" self-promotion- I can't think of a more embarassing way to try to promote oneself than to diss someone else and then direct people to your own website. We get it- someone else did it first. But does it really matter when ellis does it better?

You actually don't seem to be Ellis, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and explain the situation. Ellis spammed and trolled this board mercilessly, mostly harassing me (the mod) and then followed me to other sites to harass me there. He is not well-liked here.

As for whether the people who post here "impact the world in any real and meaningful way," I think that's not really for you to decide. The idea of internet users being unemployed nerds in their parents' basements died about 10 years ago, I'm afraid. If you think this board is a waste of time, let me point to you the friendships formed here (cf. holiday party tonight) and the $600+ we raised for a food bank in Houston after Hurricane Katrina.
