Cooking contests

All the cooking contests I find out about are in Greenpoint or Williamsburg. Why don't we do more local stuff? There must be cooks and bloggers in and around Park Slope.

  • Ha! That was funny. Yeah, in general olive oil can't handle the heat. And electric stoves suck for cooking IMO.

So are you saying we need cooking classes before we have contests?
  • You should organize one, and hire me as a tasting judge :chef:

  • Pastoralia, with a menu like that, you must know of a good butcher shop? I am on the north end of 5th, any thoughts?
  • Los Paisanos on Smith street is the best for our part of Brooklyn. If they don't have it- they'll get it for you.

You can also get good, cheap offal at Compare Foods on 5th Ave and 8th street.
  • Great, I will check them out. With weather like this, time to fire up the BBQ and get my fix before the winter months come.

    Thanks.
