Traffic Changes Coming To Atlantic-Flatbush-4th Ave Triangle

*I guess this topic could span several neighborhoods but most of the changes are in Ft Greene, so YMMV*

New traffic rules around Atlantic-Flatbush-4th:
Pedestrians will soon have 31 seconds, up from the current eight seconds, to cross the confusing and dangerous intersection of Atlantic, Fourth and Flatbush avenues...

• Transforming Third Avenue to one-way northbound between Atlantic and Flatbush avenues — which would relieve congestion at the intersection by giving drivers another way to get to Flatbush from points south.

• Turning Hanson Place into a two-way street between Ashland Place and South Portland Avenue — which would relieve some pressure on Fulton Street.

• Eliminating the ability of drivers to enter Hanson Place from Flatbush or Fourth avenues — a key move that will allow pedestrians to easily stream out of the LIRR station and Atlantic Avenue subway hub and head towards Downtown.
I don't get the 3rd Avenue part...I'm assuming they mean 5th since 3rd doesn't cross Flatbush.

    It does - two blocks past the YWCA there on Atlantic :)

    Thank goodness! I've noted the difficulties of this intersection for a long time now. This should help.

    These all sound good, except removing the ability of entering Hanson place from Flatbush/4th kind of sucks for me since I do that all the time when I'm heading home from that direction. Still, it all seems to make sense and should help things.
