I love the GAP market. I wish it were operating more than once a week. If they were open Tuesday or Wednesday, I'd have very little food shopping to do elsewhere during the peak season.

I agree. i wish that the GAP market was open more than once a week. It's the prefect thing to get great food and enjoy good company with.

Chekout the Wilklow Orchards stand as they make the best apple cider IMHO & it's also a great fairly near place to go apple picking:

Seriously. I work on Saturdays and NEVER get to GAP. Boo.
-
The small community market on 5th Avenue between 3rd & 4th is open until the Sunday before Thanksgiving
-
I also wish the GAP one was laid out better...it's so frickin' crowded. I don't begrudge the strollers/dogs/carts etc., but I don't understand why it doesn't expand into the streets going into the park. They're only a few stands there, and it would be a much more pleasant experience if they spread more stands out that way.
And, yes. it would be awesome to have it more than 1x a week. -
because this question comes up every year:
The Blue Moon fishmonger at GAP is open until Dec 20 this year. That's the last day for them; then back in the spring.
The smoked blue is divine. We had clams from there for lunch today. LOVE. -
I like when Blue Moon gets monkfish liver. On the other hand Flying Pigs and Tallio (?) had chicken feet and whole soup hens respectively. And some dude was selling lion head 'shrooms up the roadway entrance. A pretty good day for GAP FM.
Howdy, Stranger!
