Automatic Arms Fire on Monroe? — Brooklynian

Automatic Arms Fire on Monroe?

I just heard someone empty an kalashnikov or kel-tec on Monroe or maybe Madison between Classon and Franklin. Three volleys. I called it in. What the hell!

Enough of the bullshit "anti-snitch" ethos. I can't believe (1) anyone should refrain from calling 911 if they see a crime or hear gunshots (2) that posting about aforementioned citizenly act anonymously on a neighborhood website would elicit any negative reaction.

Yesterday I was on my back deck and saw on the side street three men grabbing a woman who had seemingly shorted them on money or drugs. I called 911, and shouted at them that I was doing so. If we aren't willing to set standards for public behavior (no shooting guns, no drug-related beat-downs on the street), then what is the point? That doesn't make me a hero - failure to react would make me an asshole.
  • any update regarding this? I heard that shit too. hope nobody was hurt.
