i want to go with my sister somewhere in park slope or p.h. but near the Q train or possibly the F train for a light bite to eat or a drink around 4 p.m. today. It'd be great to get Blue Ribbon type ambiance (I like booths) but any ideas welcome. I'm not sure what places are open sort of through out the day that might also have (good) food & good ambiance. ideas?
thanks!

    I've never eaten there but
    El Gran Castillo de Jagua
    gets good reviews.

    Oh - 4pm which day....?

hi thanks for the idea. we were able to make it later - after 5 - and so there were lots more places to choose from! we ended up going to miriam's which i really like (although they changed their menu for the winter and i was more of a fan of the fall menu and some of the portions are a bit teeny but otherwise great!). fyi, if you haven't been there on mondays and tuesdays they have 1/2 price bottle wines and they have a great montepulciano for $18 so it's then $9!

    have a great holiday...

I'm as huge a fan of el carneviento as anyone (see the PH board), but if cat was looking for ambience, that's not exactly Castillo's forte.
