Millie - Just a reminder that the results show for Dancing With The Stars will not be on tonight, it will be on Wednesday night. They will probably show everything that happened last night. Everyone was really good last night. They did two different team dances that was very good. I am sure they will repeat one of the them on Wednesday.
Have a nice day

Terry, in one of my memory stories I mentioned "Belmont's" but got no response to that one. I figured Belmont's was before all your your time. It was a clothing store and if you bought a suit for a boy they would give the boy a gift like a baseball or football. The larger the sale the better the gift. It was on 5th Ave between 9th & 10th St or 10th & 11th st. on the same side as Neergard's. When my Mother could not get my Easter suit there she would take me down to A&S basement on Fulton St. We went on the good old trolley which went down 9th St to Smith and then down to Fulton. I much preferred Belmont's because I would get the gift! --Old Goat
berkley sounds familiar but i just remembered anther one BELMONTS. REMEMBER BELMONTS CLOSER TO 9TH ST I THINK NEAR LOFTS CANDY STORE. IT HAD LIKE A HALL WAY YOU WALKED INTO TO LOOK AT THE WINDOWS I THINK. I THOUGHT WE HIT EVERY MEMORY BUT I GUESS WE DID NOT. LOVE TERRY
FRANNY,
MAY THE BEST MAN WIN AND I HOPE IT IS MY VOTE NOT YOURS LOL ONLY KIDDING. DONT WORRY NO ONE KNOWS WHO IAM VOTING FOR SO THE DO NOT KNOW WHO U ARE VOTIG OR VOTED FOR. THE FIRST TIME IN ALL OUR YEARS WE THOGHT DIFFERENTLY. FUNNY I LOVE YA TERRY -
Morning Everyone!
Debbie - no you're not the only one working. I'm sitting at my desk looking at a pile of work. My get up and go got up and left. It'll get done. Coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
I already voted and was surprised that it wasn't crazy but my neighborhood has a lot of stay-at-homes so later will probably be busier. I saw some pix on the tv and in the city, the lines were wrapping around the blocks. Good sign. We need a change.
I guess I'll pretend to look busy. Check back later. -
OLD GOAT WARREN,
Must have missed that blog. Was lofts there also or i remember another candy store cant remember the name. there was lofts and something else when i was young. I remember the trolly up by where they built Bishop Ford. I never was on one. I am 57 so I do remember some things from back when. Had a wonderful day or night i should say. It was Debbie Brodbeck's birthday and spent time with her Mom Bunny. What a great lady, she is like my 2nd Mom and her Dad Bob, God Bless Him 80 yrs old and he looks like 70 or younger. Love Terry -

Terry, There was a Loft's but do not recall the exact location. When it comes to Trolleys-wow. You missed out on something. There was the 5th ave Trolley which ran from downtown to the far reaches of BayRidge. The seventh Ave Trolley which went across the Manhatten Bridge to Park Row in Manhatten. Th McDonald ave Trolley which went from Bartel Pritchard Square (Circle) to Coney Island and the Trolley whcih ran from the square (circle) along PPW, down 9th St to Smith and then downtown. That is just the trolleys that ran in our old neighborhood. They were all over Brooklyn. By the way. The best part was you could get a free transfer from most trolleys to the others. There also was a 5th Ave El until 1940 when it was torn down. Rumor was that the steel fron the El was sold to Japan. I was only a wee lad then.Remember we are talking before Pearl Harbor when it was torn down.
