already voted for obama? get on the horn! — Brooklynian

already voted for obama? get on the horn!

if you can (i.e., you're not at work), please go to barackobama.com and do some calling for their get out the vote efforts this afternoon.

it's easy, it's reasonably fun, and you'll get to take credit for the win or at least not be kicking yourself if he doesn't win.

  • I'm doing my part.I got my text messaging back on (finally!) so I was texting my friends and family with reminders. I threatened them bodily harm if they didn't.

My bro in law is refusing to go and then he told me that if he does end up going that he will vote for McCaca. I think he's messing with me about the McCaca thing , but he's for real about the not voting cuz he works 12 hours a day and too tired to stand in long lines and blah blah bleh. It's just one freakin' day for a couple of hours, I tell him. So , He gets no dinner today. :x
  • my thing is, we as a country are always carrying on about how great democracy is. then you see on the news folks in other countries waiting in line for hours and hours to vote, while what pathetically small percentage of our populace votes? disgusting. like an hour or two in decent weather with no expectation of physical danger is such a hardship.

but if you think he might vote mccain, tell him to take a load off. no need to exert himself. ;)
  • LOL!

Yeah , I'm gonna call him right now and see what he's up to. He should be off work right about now.

**Edited to add: Still at work. He's covering the next shift so his co-worker can go vote.

No, everyone should vote. If he votes for Obama, he helps get him elected. If he votes McCain, he moves us closer to being a swing state, making us garner more attention and helping us have more influence in future elections. No matter how people vote, it helps us. And it's the right thing to do. I know you're joking, Sweet Tea, but we should never stoop to voter suppression.
