anyplace that sells challah bread on christmas day?

I buy challah at Eagle's Heimishe Bakery on the corner of 39th Street and 13th Avenue in Borough Park (not Williamsburg, sorry), but I don't know if any kosher bakery will have any left on Sunday because they usually only make it for Shabbos, which was Friday night. You can give it a try, though, and if you get there you should buy some rugaleh -- they have amazing vanilla and cinnamon ones. Yum. And they're parve, for our vegan friends. Good luck.

My Catholic-in-laws were heart broken that proper bread wasn't bought for Christmas french toast by my brother-in-law. I set sail and found a proper Hasidic place and several nice loaves of Challah. Challah is right up there with Pan de Mie and Hawaiian loaf for French Toast.

Another holiday bread that makes great french toast is pannetone.

Some may not believe me, some may doubt my ability to judge starchy foods (cough-Carnivore-cough). but I'll tell you a great Challah secret: The frozen Challah from Kineret makes seriously great bread. I don't know where to find it around here, but when I lived in Manhattan the Food Emporium had it. I would just keep 2 boxes in my freezer and defrost, let rise, put some egg batter on top and bake. Nothing beats Challah fresh out of the oven.

If anyone knows a place around here to get this stuff (it's often next to ther other kosher-y, Jewish-y stuff in the freezer), please let me know.
