I wanted to bump this- I went to dr Din today for the first time after I've been battling a cold for the better part of 4 weeks. I waited about 20 minutes because someone had just walked in before me. He was quick and courteous (and I have strep...doh!) and I went to the pharmacy across the street to get my scripts filled (next to Jackie's fifth.) The pharmacist was way nicer than the ones at CVS, and overall i'm very pleased to have found a walk-in clinic (and on my corner!)
If not..Dr Ifkar Din 718 965 1234, corner of 5th Ave and 7th street.. you can get an appointment today, his Pa's name is Jasmine (she is good) and Dr Din is not an alarmest but he is an excellent diagnostician. The office is nothing fancy but the wait won't be long.
As a sidenote, the secretary said tha Dr. Din doesn't take appts and only does walk ins. Give him a shot!
I have been seeing Dr. Din for over 25 years. He started out as a solo practitioner but as medicine has changed he has brought other specialists in to this office. Medicine is business. BUT... He is a master diagnostician. Medicine can be practiced as an art and he is spectacular in recognizing when the symptoms you present are no big deal vs. those that need further investigation. He doesn't push antibiotics but is adept at determining whether you have REAL need for them.
The pharmacy across the street is SLOPE DRUGS and I have used them as well for a long time. They are real people and will not make you wait for a script for an hour. They are great folk. the only down side is they are closed on Sunday and are not open 24/7. So if I have one of those emergency scripts I go to Neergard but for everything else... ask for AJ. -

may I ask you what this walk in appointment cost you? I assume this is the first time you have ever seen this doctor, correct? -

You are correct- I have insurance and it was my normal copay (which is $35.) I dont have any idea what it would be if I didn't have insurance. -
Darn! Thanks anyway.

As much as a grump as I am on this board; I gotta say it works for me! I had a medical emergency; and COULD NOT sit around for 2-3 hours in a paper dressing gown at my GP. I was in and out of there so quickly; I don't think I'll ever go back to Dr. Abott! Thanks folks
Dr. Din was a pleasure. With Oxford-copay of $15.oo. -
Does anyone know what the cost would be for someone paying full out of pocket?

Because I have insurance I can't answer this but call the office and just ask the question... file the information if you ever need to see a Doctor that was trained to actually practice medicine. -

I pay $100 bucks just for my doc visit but she's in Crown Heights not Park Slope.
My bro in law paid $250 for his doctor visit. Not sure what doc he goes to but it's in Park Slope.
So you'll pay between $100-$300 just for the office visit.
Sucks. -
Not to say Dr. Din seems "cheap" but the office was def. not swanky and everyone that was in there with me was filing medicare or medicaid. I would guess that he's one of the less expensive doctors in the slope if I had to make a guess on it. The level of care was totally fine, but the office wasn't nearly as new as a place like Docs in manhattan. Call and ask, they were helpful when I called prior to going in.

I could care less about what the office looks like (as long as it isn't filthy or crawling with bugs)-as long as he is a good doctor, that is the most important thing. Thanks for the info, I will call them and ask just so I know for future reference.
