Sorry, I know, this is totally tacky, but I have to ask.

What is your monthly payment for your Crunch membership?

Was there a membership fee?

Did you get a special deal?

Is that just for the Flatbush Ave gym or for all of them?

Thanks. When times are hard, sometimes a girl's gotta be tacky and ask this kind of stuff before she commits herself to spending the cash.

    There was a thread about this a while back...do a search b/c I think lots of folks listed their rate. They all seemed to be pretty similar.

    I just moved away from Crunch and am now closer to the PS YMCA, which I was really excited about. The rates are definitely lower and it has a pool, but I actually miss a few things about Crunch.

    Such as the fact that when I tend to go to the gym, the Y is much more packed than Crunch was for some reason. And there was more space to work out on your own (lunges, using a step, etc) at Crunch, imo. The Y has two workout "theaters" but there is pretty much always a class going on so I can't use those spaces like I did at Crunch and am really missing that. I've tried the weight room and other spaces but none of them has the area I want without bumping into others or being in the way.

    I do not miss the annoying trainers at Crunch and like the helpful staff/trainers at the Y much better.

    hey there. I just joined a few weeks ago. I paid $89 in initiation, and got the balance of the month for free. I pay $89 per month for just the Flatbush Ave. gym. All gyms were $99 per month. Hope that helps.

    I just came across this 25% off coupon for Crunch recently....haven't tried it out, so no idea if its legit....but if anyone has a chance to try it, let me know. Good through end of November.

    i had no initiation fee and pay $49.50 a month. that's because i got a special deal for 2008 graduates. however, i tried to cancel my membership because i still can't find a job and they wanted to charge me $200. :(

    Thank you all for your information! I really appreciate it. Opossum Queen, per your recommendation, I did a search and found even more info. I was able to go to Crunch today knowing that I could definitely haggle, and it was worth it.

    Oh, and yes, this is legit. It will bring your dues down to $74.25/month.

    I didn't use the coupon, but when I haggled, they offered me exactly what the coupon said. Also, the initiation fee was cut down to $25 and I got the rest of November for free. Oh and two free personal training sessions (which might be the norm.) Seems like a decent deal.
