What to do on a rainy day.... — Brooklynian

What to do on a rainy day....

edited November -1 in Park Slope
1) Catch up on Netflix/Tivo
2) go to Ikea, buy the new desk I need, try to drag it home (if I can drag somebody with me to Ikea in the first place), build it (last time I built some of their furniture I swear it took a few years off my life)
3) go to movies
4) go back to bed
5) go to yoga later
6) invite somebody over for the first item and make dinner together
7) do some of the work that's been piling up
8) go to a bar
9) scroll through 156 pages on etsy looking for a hat.

Right now #4 is in the lead, followed by #1

  • It's definitely a hot coco and netflix day. Perhaps hot toddy and movie. Of course jammies and a warm blanket must be included.
  • im with mamacita on this one
  • ....although im stuck at work today :(
  • oh, I am thinking it's going to be #4 (any minute now - I have a killer sinus headache and am getting sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy) and then #1 later.

I have about 20 hours of TiVo, 2 Netflix and about 40 movies queued up on Roku.
  • It's so warm out that it's weirdly nice to take a walk...
(I have a dog, so this was not optional, but I enjoyed it more than most of the non-rainy days)
  • wait.......the sun is trying to come out
  • wait, it's freakishly sunny!
(which can only mean that optimum conditions are reached for flexi and potter's threatened mud wrestling in the park.)
    :D
  • I have the house to myself and am drinking Bloody Mary's (I make very good ones), eating tempura shrimp from Trader Joe's and watching Snapped on Oxygen-real life stories about women who kill. It fascinates me.

But, it is no longer raining, now I feel like I should go out somewhere.
  • I just love sitting home on a rainy day eating tofu and drinking fig and star fruit smoothies.
  • You all suck. I am at work. Inside.
  • I took a nap. I still have an insanely bad headache....and no, it's not from going out too late. I was in last night
  • i went to ikea today! i should have posted, I would have driven you!

Dude ditto- I usually nab some teenager walking by my apartment! I almost started a thread on here today because I couldn't get a screw into a stud... how sad is that :( I need a big strong neighbor!
  • I think 90% of my posts start with "dude." I aint from round these parts.
  • I've been doing 4 and 1. It's dark now. Wow...
  • I did 4 and 1. I cleared 3 hours off Tivo and took a nap.
  • I did um, 10. Went to brooklynpotter's studio and bought some bowls. She's having a sale, people! Pay attention!

yay! I already have some of her stuff - the milk bottles. Now I need me some flowers to put in them.
  • I love the milk bottles but I really love my bowls. Flexi - you don't have anyone to buy you flowers?

My handyman is available anytime. Papi chulo is actually really good at electrical, some plumbing and drilling shit and stuff :geek: The man can fix things! Even I'm impressed.

Um, jeez....I hadn't thought of it that way. No, I guess I don't have anybody to buy me flowers. Now I'm all sad and shit
  • Awww sorry, didn't mean to make you feel bad. Cheer up - you still have 17 hours of Tivo!

Dont tempt me. I might be calling him next time i have something to hang haha
  • Mama -

I need papi over here. A light bulb exploded in my hand and the base is still in the ceiling fan. I have to switch off the circuit breakers and do that potato thing (thanks to Potter for reminding me) to get it out. I have to stand on my paint ladder to do it.

Whenever I stand on the ladder I make sure somebody is there to call 911 for me.

That said, I've got nothing to offer the papi except my bawdy humor.

wow. I think I am getting sadder by the minute

good thing I am cooking an awesome dinner and opening some wine....by myself :-)
  • Arrgh. I'm digging myself in a hole - not intended. If it makes you feel any better I'm doing the exact same thing. Wine (red) and great dinner. And Tivo. Of which I have at least 30 hours. Maybe I should come over and bring you flowers and change your lightbulb.... :D

Oh, my! Watch out, because any minute now, the Brooklynians will have us meeting under the arch at GAP while they ride their bikes in circles around us

I feel the sudden urge to post on the Park Slope board, but I don't know why. wait, look
  • I thought of that. And why has no one made a comment about the innuendo of "changing your lightbulb" - there is one in there somewhere isn't there?
