Obama on 60 Minutes — Brooklynian

Obama on 60 Minutes

Anyone see the interview? How great was it? I watched it twice. I laughed. I cried. I was inspired.

Highlights for me:

- His commitment to a long-term strategy for the energy crisis.

- His graciousness in not laying too much blame for the financial crisis on Paulson or even Republicans. You really get the sense that he is committed to being above partisan politics and just want to get this thing fixed.

- His suave way of deflecting questions about his cabinet picks.

- His reflections on Lincoln and FDR. Its great to know that he is taking guidance from such great leaders. But at the same time he acknowledges that he might have to draw from examples from Presidents such as Reagan if that is what the times call for.

- His vision of recreating the bond of trust between the President and the public.

- Every moment between Barack and Michelle. There is a sincerity between them that you rarely witness with political families. I love hearing them talk about their daughters and their vision for the family. I really do hope they will be able to keep the girls grounded in the midst of all of this.

Anyone else have thoughts on the interview?
