In this simple story of sexual desperation, loneliness and longing, women find intimacy in unexpected places. The filmmaker will introduce the film and will be available for conversation after the screening.

WANDA
1970, 102 minutes.
Written and directed by and starring Barbara Loden.
Wanda is numb, abused, and trapped in the poverty and scarred landscape of Pennsylvania coal country. She abandons her family and takes up with a small-time crook. Wanda is the only film made by Barbara Loden (wife of Elia Kazan) before her untimely death in 1980. Winner of the Critics Prize, Venice Film Festival, 1970.

Listen/Space is a performance space, recording studio, and rehearsal space located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn dedicated to experimental performance. It seats about forty well dressed men or women. This is the place to attend curated concerts of the highest integrity in both concept and execution. We will record and release key performances that happen in this space.

We are also the proud home of the Society for the Preservation of Live Performance and the resident Listen/Space Ensemble.
