It is just Amazing, 8 friends and I had brunch last saturday and we were so happy because this restaurant is completely new and well done, the food is really high quality, the service perfect and the best is the check, prices really normal, if you go to manhattan and get this food and service you might pay 3 to 4 times more, delicious on the slope is the best place in Park Slope. -

ok, im assuming you somehow have a connection to Delicious.
i wasn't aware that they reopened. it wasn't that good the first time around. i just looked at the website to see what the menu is now and it has dramatically changed. the thing that stuck out to me is this though:
Classic New York Grilled Cheese…………………………..........................…$7.95
White Bread with Cheddar or American Cheese. And field Greens, Add: Ham $ 2.00, Tomato $ 1.00, Bacon $ 2.00, Add French Fries for $ 2.00 or Onion Rings for $2.95
$7.95 for a grilled cheese and they don't even come with fries??? that better be the mother of all grilled cheeses. -
I wanted to like this place. I really did. Last week I ordered a veggie burger to go despite the price being $12.95 or so. I was thinking, well this must be one super-awesome veggie burger at that price. When I got home and opened the container I was looking at a $5.95 kind of veggie burger. And the taste was maybe a $4.95.
These guys need to re-examine their business plan. I think they're floundering... -
If they are making that $8 grill cheese with fancy imported gourmet cheese and the freshest bread in Brooklyn and offer the friendliest and fastest service, that sandwich MIGHT be worth $8.
Charging $1 for a tomato, however, is nothing more than bologna served by a jerk asking for a knuckle sandwich.
Generous and fresh portions of raw lettuce and tomatoes and should be FREE with any sandwich. -
does anybody know their story?
a friend of mine got excited to see some specific diasporic jewish food there, but I forget what...maybe Iraqi Jewish salad or something
They seem a little tone-deaf on the restaurant startup tip, and I'm curious. -
I thought that place closed down?
-
NATALIE = SHILL SHILL SHILL
-
Yeah, Natalie is definitely a shill.
They also have a clearly-fake Letter from a Customer in their window right now... and a huge sign that says "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!" It smacks of desperation.
I walk by this place every day to the subway, and they clearly want to succeed. But I have to say, they also clearly Just. Don't. Get. It.
Their prices are OUTRAGEOUS for what are standard sandwiches. And adding $1 for tomato and then $2 for fries, to an $8 grilled cheese is RIDICK. (Which also makes me convinced that Natalie is a shill, because she points out the "great prices!!" as does the letter in the window... which, clearly, they don't have.)
It would be awesome to have great high-quality diner food on that street. They're going to fail because they have no sense of their customers or their competitors. I honestly hope Natalie does work for them, so she can read this and report back. Maybe they can make some changes and have a chance... -
Subject: Place is a disaster
Delicious added that ugly front wall of glass so that any tenant to that building (if there are any) have to walk to the entrance like cattle to being slaughtered.
I have not seen more than one or two people (other than the staff) there at any given time.
I can hear the bells tolling in the not too distant future.
That building has been a mess since it opened with the "garage" or whatever that was. And finding no tenants, it now styles itself as a professional office. -
What you guys are doing is just messing with your area, I blame on you all the business closing down, what are you doing complaining about the front glass entrance or the signs or even the style of any place around Park Slope, how many of you tried the food over there?... over priced? 4.95 with a sandwich with all the stuff you are asking?... what are u? asking for a dollar menu also?... I think you are just bitter or frustrated people hanging around other peoples lifes... There are many of us happy with this restaurant supporting it and hopping the best of luck to this very nice new people.

I am reporting what I have seen. No more or no less. The place is not inviting. I don't have to go to every place that opens.
You are the only one to say anything positive about the place and you put forth no meaningful response to the issues raised by the other numerous posters.
The last thing I want to see is empty storefronts but the market speaks. It's people like us (you know, ones who have lived longer here than you have been out of diapers) that kept places like A&S open in the face of GREEDY landlords who double, triple or quadruple the rents. In that vein, we did not force the closure of Cocotte, 2nd Street Cafe and numerous other places. The real estate market did.
Please get your facts straight. Read the helpful and supportive posts that people here have written about numerous new places and the conversations they had in this forum with shop and restaurant owners.
Just because you can type does not make you an expert.
Go troll somewhere else. -
Just for the files I don't work for them, I live right cross the street and I always see them trying really hard, some of you are saying... "I can hear the bells tolling in the not too distant future", of course not because people like you will not accept anything for any price, the anonymous profile this blog have gives you a chance to say anything you want but I will keep going to this place as it's been since they re-opened no matter what you say or think, at least say something positive, the place looks really beautiful and the food is amazing. "It hurts?"
-
I am sorry natalie, but, if what they are saying is true and they are charging $8.00 for a grilled cheese sandwich, that is outrageous!
-
Natalie, no, we're not asking for a dollar menu, and it's not that we "don't accept anything at any price." That's ridiculous.
Listen, at Bonnie's I can get a chicken sandwich with cheese and a choice of fries or salad for $8.
At Park Slope Ale House, I can get a chicken sandwich with the works and a choice of fries or salad for $9.
Even at Alchemy, I can get a chicken sandwich with bacon and fries for $12.
At Delicious? A chicken sandwich is $11. $3 if you want fries + $1 for cheese. That's $15.
If you don't see how the restaurant is not in-line with the rest of the community, then that's up to you. I don't hate your restaurant at all, I just think people find it too expensive, and I don't believe they're being unreasonable. I think you are being short-sighted. But that's totally your choice. Customers will vote with their wallets, and then the management can live with the consequences and decide what to do. -

I understand that you people are asking for a deal at all times and you will go anywhere where the prices are low and the quality is just as bad as their food, which is not important for you as well, unfortunately for you again i have to inform me and 10 of my friends were at delicious the past Saturday brunch and we saw they had a line outside, well judge for yourself and this place in less than a month it is making it, Besides that they are giving this post cards with the 20% off on the whole bill for the people who eat in, i spoke with the owner and he was telling me they had already few important reviews from Time Out and some other I don't really remember the names but anyways i just think you are NOT talking for everyone and the real people are not coming here and read your bitter anonymous comments... Good luck you all in all those crappy places you go searching for a deal (lol) Just think about something... Your maybe are the owner of some of those dirty stingy places you are mentioning, that is the only reason why you will not even try their food before taking your time to do this stuff... Good Bye everyone!... I'm out of here! -

Nat's rambling was awesome.

Gee, I'd been curious to try the place, but the thought of Natalie (sorry, NATALIE) working there has kind of put me off. If this is how she reacts to gentle criticism on a message board, think what she'd do to your food if she didn't like your attitude...
*shudder*
But I agree, the stream-of-consciousness rant was quite entertaining! "The real people are not coming here and read your bitter anonymous comments" -- NATALIE, how did you know I was a cyborg and not a "real" person? So perceptive! -

Well, I can't say Ive eaten here so there will be no opining by me about the food, price etc. However, while perusing Craigslist for a PT gig I came across this ad which means they'll never hire the likes of me. So I can't afford to eat there.

Whoa on the CL ad. I have to pass by this place just to see....not to eat. I will make sure to look across the street and wave to Natalie :-)

Wow, just what is wrong with you? No one said we will go anywhere just because the food is cheap! We just said we won't go to places that are obviously ripping us off! come on, $8.00 for a grilled cheese sandwich? And, you are obviously an owner of this place or related to an owner because no one who just lives across the street would be getting this worked up! -

Whoa there! Since I'm the one who mentioned the "crappy places searching for a deal" I have to point out that I LOVE eating at Bonnie's, Park Slope Ale House and Alchemy. People may have differing opinions on them, but I don't eat there because it's a "deal" and I'm not sure many would qualify them as "dirty stingy places." I eat there because it's DELICIOUS! (Ha - no pun intended, but makes me laugh anyway!)
Seriously, your response is irrational, and now it's clear that you work there.
And the Craigslist ad -- MODEL TYPES preferred??? Tacky. So tacky.
Oh, and Natalie? I have eaten at your restaurant. I live nearby, and we all tried the takeout. I had a chicken BLT and a soup. It was mediocre at best. Sorry. -
