usually $900-950+ with heat & hot water but no other utilities. looking to rent out a place?!
***oh, and in my experience this is for either a studio or 2-room studio aka a "1-bedroom" -
I'd say $1200 - $1600.

.You would guess right because you're not getting shit for $900 AND utilities this close to Flatbush. -
i'm paying 800 for a large studio on vanderbilt!
-
Yikes, what am I doing wrong?

The closer to Flatbush, the more and more expensive it gets. -
It also depends on what your place is like. I'm paying $1500/mo. for my 1BR. I also pay for my own heat (the unit has its own thermostat, so that's legal). However, the place is brand-new and really nice.
I think the bottom line is that real estate in this city is absurdly expensive, and always will be. -
or you have lived in the place forever or know people or something...
my friend's BF pays $800 for a HUGE (1000 square feet) 2 bedroom on st.marks just before flatbush. but, obviously, the place is rent controlled//stabilized and there are family ties... so, LUCKY. -
I'm afraid even to ask how much for 2 or 3br lol

Yeah, man. That's crazy. I was paying just a little more than that for a 3br in PH proper...and I think I moved in after you did! :? -
We rent out a 700 sq foot REAL one bedroom between Vanderbilt and Underhill for $1600 a month. There is laundry and decent storage and use of the garden (sometimes). That doesn't include electric or gas.

you guys seem to pay more than market
. -
I think they rent it out, not rent it. So lucky them!
As for dan.h's problem, two words: Jewish. Hospital. I get mad for you guys just on principle! -

I don't know about that. When I was looking in August/September, I didn't see much in this neighborhood listed outside of the $1250 and up range (1 bedroom).

Well, yeah... I get mad at myself too. My space is pretty big though - 820 sq ft. I was actually about to move.

That said, if anyone wants to rent an AWESOME 1200 sq ft loft with an entire wall of exposed brick for $2100/mo on St Marks @ Vanderbilt/Underhill, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the real estate agent. Really, the place is awesome, and I'm pretty upset because I'm about to turn it down! -

I live with three other people in the Jewish Hospital. We pay $2500 total, and I pay $700 (the most of anyone) for a large bedroom. I feel like we got a very good deal.

I'm basically trying to pay it off. I don't think you can lock them in without doing something tricky and then I'd have to pay PMI. thankfully it's tax deductible. but it's still got gigantor interest rates. I kissed my bonus goodbye to the heloc slush fund at citi. rat-fink bastids. -
you own a house or condo or something :P?
