  • I'm totally going to apply! It could be like Park Slope's answer to Hooters!

  • I had lunch at Delicious once, and found it surprisingly tasty. I'd eat there more often if it was a little cheaper. I think that's kind of a tough location to pull off, being tucked away around the corner from Fifth Ave, and those menu prices just aren't attractive. Good luck!

  • Isn't this the place that used to say on their corner billboard that they had "hummus" and "wienershnitzel" specials? WTF?

  • I just looked at the CL ad - "model types only" - I think I'll skip trying this place - found that very offensive

  • Natalie's posts hurt my brain as does their website.

This is from the About Us section of their website:

"Mostly of us impressed with the food, precise service and stylishly relaxed clientele. With a chic, clean interior, severe white plate ware and a busy, square bar as a focal point, Delicious On The Slope provides a high-end alternative to the proliferating chains around Park Slope"

"...Seafood is done so well" "many Standout appetizers" "Steak full of flavor and perfectly cooked" made of this small family oriented restaurant, the Park Slope's Best!

.. A creative, consistent higher quality product to a customer base that prefers and deserves more than many other restaurants can provide"

"You trip to Delicious On The Slope Reminded that going out to eat could be a wonderful experience"

  • I guess the family doesn't have model-like looks or they'd serve the food themselves :-)

  • I ordered take out from DOTS and thought it was pretty bad. I got the chicken fingers and french fries. The chicken was oily and tasted that way and was breaded in some strange coating. It was one of those take out meals that makes you regret just sucking it up and cooking dinner for yourself. My friend got the burger and fries. it was very undercooked. Total price for the 2 meals plus a desert...29 bucks plus tip.

  • I had brunch there a couple weeks ago and thought it was pretty good. I do remember a friend ordered a side of broccoli that ended up seeming way overpriced, but the meal overall was pretty cheap, in part because they gave us a 20% coupon to lure us in. The staff couldn't have been nicer, although that was almost a problem, since the place seems doomed (we were the only table during a prime brunch hour on the weekend), that my friends and I even discussed what a shame it was during our meal. Not typically the conversation one's expecting to have when searching out a new brunch location. Still, I do wish them the best, they seemed really nice and like they really wanting to make the place work, even if that does lead them to shilling.

  • Here's a positive review on Delicious. I cannot vouch for the quality of the reviewer but her articles gives some details about the chef and cuisine. It's definitely different from what originally opened.

I have noticed more people eating there recently. With the candles in the evening, it looks much more inviting.

  • Did you guys look at the food pics? The food looks pretty bad. If I was a restaurant owner I would take those photos down.....Everything looks to be drowned in some kind of sauce.....

    Airplane food anyone?
  • Question: What is a "shill?"

In this case, someone who works for the restaurant posing as a customer.

Otherwise, a person who speaks highly of something for reasons of self interest.

  • joe's pizza on 7th ave is the best place to eat in park slope

Okay, YankeeFan. If you don't stop bumping old threads to say Eat At Joe's, we are going to think you are a shill. What's going on?
  • I kind of agree with YankeeFan. Joe's IS the best place to eat in Park Slope.

That's cool. It's just that this is the 2nd thread not particularly about pizza that he pulled out of the bin to say so . . .

    UPDATE:
Delicious on the Slope has closed, as of March 29.

Sunday night they had a humorous chalkboard outside reading "five stars! Voted Best New American Restaurant in TimeOut!"

Monday morning, the windows are papered and there's a sign in the window thanking their customers and cursing those who predicted their failure...
