What are the best preschools in williamsburg?
We are thinking of moving from Fort Greene to Williamsburg (Lorimer or Graham stop on L). At this point my greatest hesitation is that I can only find one pre-school and it is not even nearby (Northside Preschool). Are there other very good pre-schools in the hood? My daughter is just over one. I'd like to find a school for her to go to when she is 2.
Many thanks

Subject: preschool in Greenpoint or Williamsburg, NY
I just noticed your question concerning a pre-school for your daughter. There is an excellent preschool in existance since 1993 called ABC Child Center and located at 109 Nassau Avenue right in the heart of Greenpoint. Within walking distance from Williamsburg. They have full day & half day programs, as well as, after school program.
I hope this will help. -

we take our daughter to St. Nicholas on the corner of Olive + Powers walking distance from the area you are speaking about. there are many others like the greenpoint YMCA program, WNNS, miescuelita, and there are probably a dozen schools around union sq in manhattan. we used to commute in with her for daycare, and it was fine. if you do move to the area, PS132 on manhattan and conselyea is a very good elementary school. we have a 3 year old and love living in williamsburg. have met many wonderful parents and kids.
you should join the yahoo group: brooklynbabyhui - it's the parents group for williamsburg and greenpoint. it's terrific. you'll find out everything you need to know.
good luck! -
