Towed car? — Brooklynian

Towed car?

Hi,
Wondering if anyone saw what happened to our white volvo 1992 sedan? It is not there this morning. It was parked between underhill and vanderbilt on sterling, across from butler...
311 has no record of it being towed.
Any information would be appreciated.

  • ahhh that volvo..

if its towed it takes up to 3 hours to show up in the system.

2nd you should go to nyc.gov then
use the search & find the towed car section
  • Was it parked in front of one of the two crosswalk curb cuts? A lot of people park there by mistake and get towed.

There's one right under the Sterling/Butler street sign, and another less obvious one about 25 feet further down Sterling (towards Vanderbilt).

    Hopefully it shows up!
  • They get towed down to the Navy Yard.
  • And watch out if you find out it did, indeed, get towed. They charge you for storage even on the days they're closed. So, if your car sits in the Navy Yard over a weekend when they're not there they still pop you with $90/day fees.

now that all depends on who towed your car. if it was just nypd then yes. but if it was the marshalls its out in greenpoint !!!

    quite the mission
  • 311 is a complete waste of time in regards to locating towed vehicles. Call the 77 who can check if it's been towed. It can sometimes take a few hours for the information to get "into the system".
  • did you find your car yet?
    (who had it?)
