I think our water system and sewer pipes fall under DEP's control.

ahh, that makes sense. if a water main or sewer pipe were all fucked up, they might send a truck at 2 a.m. to fix it. -
i see them all over the place fixing usually alot of sewer pipes.

Subject: Brown Water
Does anyone else have brown water issues in PH. I'm on Sterling, and I occasionally have brownish water (like this morning). Is this a coincidence with the DEP truck or no? -

brown water is due to rusty pipes in either building or the main water pipe in the block. it happens everywhere in nyc. just do what everyone does. just let the water flow for a while and it will clear up. -

probably. if they had to shut off the water for any reason, you often get brown water. did it clear up eventually? I know this happened in my building when we were doing some pipe repairs. -
dep for raccoons?!

as for the brown water, let it run until clear... it can happen with apt. buildings where there are fewer units b/c the water is less likely to run as often through the night -- thus, the water sits and absorbs crap from the old pipes, yum. -
Hey, brushing your teeth out of the Brita is invigorating! And not washing your hair just means another opportunity to show off one of them stylish hats you own!

nice of them to post the no water sign for 8am-4pm today after 5pm, yes.. today!... our building rules.

Our water was acting all crazy from last night...when I saw the DEP truck at the corner of Underhill and St. Johns. We didn't even get the gift of a sign.
