DH Happy Hour 1/11 @ Indigo -- The Return of Games? — Brooklynian

DH Happy Hour 1/11 @ Indigo -- The Return of Games?

Happy hour on Wednesday at the same time (officially 7ish) and same place as last week (Indigo -- Vanderbilt & Dean), I was wondering if anyone else wanted to restart the board games thing. That space is perfect for it really.

Vote, comment, whatever and we'll see.

  • I only want to play if pensodyssey comes back! :(
  • I'd be up for games but I think we really have to stick to ones that don't require you to listen carefully or pay close attention, because it either kills conversation entirely or causes people to stop paying attention, which defeats the purpose.

Does Indigo have wifi? We were going to help stacey fix something on her iPod and were waiting for the return to Soda, but if Indigo has wifi maybe we can do it there.

    you'd best PM him.
  • I'm there, I could play games but I'm pretty ADD. I am almosy positive that they have wireless, I asked last week. No brightly colored drinks for me...
  • I think games are a good idea. I think a distraction from my drinking is a good idea. I can come after work on Weds. (around 8 or 8:30). I'd like to see pensodessey as well. I'd also like to see Stacey (who I never see at these things even though she sometimes goes). I'll PM them both with pleas.
  • oh, and I'll be there post-pilates. and will attempt to bring a deck of cards.

I don't think he checks PMs and/or has been on in a while. You'd have a better chance flagging him down if you see him wandering the neighborhood.
  • I am heavily pro-game, but at this point am suffering from the plague, so I don't know if I can come this week. If I make a miraculous recovery and show up, I may have a German in tow. Everyone be nice to him.
  • I will definately try to be there this Wednesday.

    PS Thanks Emily :)
  • I'll be there :D I'm on the fence re the games suggestion. What were people thinking of bringing?
  • what time are people going? I need to make it a relatively sober night... i.e. diet coke in a flask.

I'll probably get there around 8ish.

I can't really see cards or something like that working. Something with not too many pieces. Taboo was fun. I dunno.
  • well, I'll bring a deck of cards if anyone wants to play war or poker (slightly more complex than war). cards are pretty much the only games I own so ... yeah.
  • i'll show but be warned :p never been to these places before.
  • what type of games they have? i rarely drink.

  • i could bring jinga and monopoly and life and few other board games :p.
  • Not that it matters but I will be making it but not until 11ish tomorrow.

Actually, I think it's Bird Flu. I should never have made out with that peacock in Prospect Park.

  • They play high card at Hanks Saloon when Jeanie's working.... if you don't mind losing to the locals... not too much thinking involved.

It's on Atlantic and 3rd and I don't think it's that new.... Just changed owners though

Ah yeah. Read about that. I meant, new to me since I've never been.

Anyways, I'm newly obsessed with Taboo. Who was the one with the game that time before?

JamesOnDean since Andy didn't show. or am I wrong?
  • I think so. But I thought that was a rotten game to play in a crowded and noisy place. Monopoly was much better, especially since it allowed people who wanted to go home to bequeath their holdings to late arrivals.
  • should i bring any boardgames? or they have them there in the place?

they do this in casinos in Vegas sometimes, too. it cracks me up. like at 5 a.m., or so, they just start "dealing" a game of war. it's like blackjack for dummies. the casino generally makes a fortune, too, since they just double up the winner and take everyone else's money. I can't wait til ESPN starts putting that on TV.:lol::lol::lol:
