About 3 years ago I remember watching a show on PBS and it talked about this annual celebration (maybe in Greenpoint). It was very interesting. At the time, I thought of you and Peter.. and wondered how you were. Isn't it funny - after ALL THESE YEARS - I can share this with you.
There's lots written about this - but here's a taste to watch at your leisure.

UPDATE ON TREE LIGHTING MY WIFE AND GRANDKIDS WENT TO SEE THE TREE LIGHTING SHE JUST CALLED AND SAID ITS NOT A GOOD THING THE MOBS ARE UNREAL THERE ARE COPS EVERY WHERE AND YOU CASNT GET EVEN CLOSE TO WHERE THE TREE IS COPS IN WAR GEAR WITH "LARGE GUNS"

That video reminded me o the 21st feast and how they would carry the saints through the streets and how excited we would get if grandma or grandpa gave us a dollar to pin on the saints.

Franny..I think that Giglio thing in Greenpoint is the float they carry in the parade...giglio...lilly...flowers...eh who knows...thers also an island off the coast of Rome called Giglio...I think I own it...yeah thats right I own it...I crack myself up...its really sad LOL

OK Tony I'm back, I think I ate macaroni, can't be sur...too fast, anyway the address is 228 27th st. She lived downstairs with her Mom, Dad and brother. She said John and Connie/Dolly Avena lived upstairs and the Spinellis above them???? She remembers Judy and her sister, Mom Lorraine ???said she was beautiful as well as the kids. Also mentioned the Passerettis, we saw the mother at a function for Joann Mclauglin son Darren, years ago
