Good ER experience
My husband had a slip and fall on Saturday night, did all the usual things like ice, elevation and ace bandage but by Sunday morning it was not getting better.
Instead of Methodist or LICH, we went to the NYU Orthopedic ER room
on 17th Street and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan. It is part of the NYU/Hospital for Joint Diseases complex.
He was in and out of there in about an hour and a half. Registration was immediate, as was intake interviiew and examination by a doctor. The
x-rays were back in 15 minutes, the doctor took time to explain the xrays, course of treatment, expected healing time of his fracture.
This was my second extremely positive experiece there, and I would
highly recomment this ER to anyone that has a joint, muscle or bone injury.

As long as you know it's an Orthopedic problem, that's definitely a good place to go. Additionally, at a place like that you're not competing with someone with a heart attack or gunshot wound to get seen (and on the other side, the place won't be congested with people who need a med refill or have a cold), so things will likely move much quicker than a regular ER.

My wife slipped and fell near the main library at 40th Street in Manhattan, three weeks ago tonight.
She will be released from St. Luke's hospital in about an hour... after (lengthy) treatment for a compound fracture of her femur.
She will be using a walker for the foreseeable future.
People, let's be careful out there! -
Ouch! I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Thanks!

I hope your wife heals quickly. No kidding, it is a dangerous world out there.

Good luck to you and your wife for a speedy recovery. Thanks, also, for the recommendation, Reader, and thanks, Carnivore for the common sense reasons why it might not be a bureaucratic nightmare. I wouldn't have thought of those reasons.

I went to Maimonides last week for a persistent pain that was keeping up for days, It turned out I have a slight tare on my rotater cup. I was in and out in under 30 minutes! They are the best. If I had gone to Methodist, I would probably still be there.
Howdy, Stranger!
