NE corner of Lincoln Classon — Brooklynian

NE corner of Lincoln Classon

Somethings coming in. I see guys working in the space on the corner almost everyday when I walk to work. Anyone know what is coming?

My wife and I wonder the same thing every time we walk by. My wife was tempted to stop and ask the drywallers what the place was going to be, but I wasn't sure that they would know, so we walked on...

I keep hoping its going to be something exciting... perhaps the next time I walk by I will ask.
  • There are so many things that the neighborhood could use, I don't know where to start... I just hope that it's something... decent. That's all. Some place where they provide their goods or service well- is customer service really too much to ask for?!

I know, I just have a bad feeling it is going to be an aluminum siding store or something completely useless... :(
  • Like the place that sells plastic windows (or something of that nature) on Classon?

ah yes, you read my mind.
  • I recently noticed several refrigerators being installed... perhaps another bodega?

How big/many 'fridges? Glass doors for display or stainless?

I can't see a bodega... unless it's going to be really kick-ass... who needs another so-so bodega in the area? Unfortunately, I don't have an alternative to speculate upon...

I'll peek in on the way to the garden this weekend!

Well, bodegas are the kind of thing people like to be able to walk to the corner for...that's sort of the idea, isn't it? So if there isn't already one right on that corner, there's probably a market for it.

Of course, it's only four short blocks away from the best bodega in the neighborhood, so that would be a downside for its business.

Maybe it's a pizza place! Now THAT we need :)
  • I still don't have any info on this place, but the other day when I walked by it looked like workers were redoing the apartments in the two floor overhead. Perhaps the whole building is being redone? I keep meaning to ask a worker what kind of business is going in on the ground floor, but I haven't had a chance. Any info surfaced...?
  • I don't know if you guys saw the new place on Franklin btwn prospect and st marks... I asked what they were putting in.
Not a bar, not a bike shop, not a coffee shop, but another real estate agency. Watch out James Realty!

oh lovely just what we need :(
  • Walked by the building in question- it seems to be coming along nicely. There are about 6 'fridge units lining one wall, all of them tall ones with glass doors- the type that you normally see soda or frozen foods stocked in. Everything being done seems a little too nice to be a neighborhood bodega, from the tile floors to the ventilation... there was someone working, but he was near the back, and the gate was only open a foot-and-a-half, so I didn't feel like poking my head in.

    7-11 perhaps? :)

But seriously. it might just be a fancy deli/bodega joint. There's one of those on Classon on the other side of Fulton -- maybe at Gates? -- that's pretty darn special lokking and closes at like 9.
